Barons Drop Doubleheader vs Bulldogs

The Barons faced off against the #1 Tennessee Wesleyan Bulldogs in a doubleheader on March 4, 2025, in Mount Vernon. The Barons struggled against the best team in the nation and dropped game one 10-5 and game two 16-4. The losses dropped the Barons' season record to 9-9 as they get ready for their upcoming weekend series on the road. In game one, several players made notable contributions despite the loss. Carson Kirby, Kennard Dawson, Jeremi Lara, Orlando Perez, and Kendell Wade crossed the plate to score runs for Brewton-Parker. Jeremi Lara, Kendell Wade, and Jack Morris added to the runs tally with key RBIs. Dylan Speakman started on the mound for the Barons, facing a tough Tennessee Wesleyan lineup. Despite his efforts, the Bulldogs managed to secure a well-fought victory. Game two saw contributions from players like Orlando Perez, who scored two runs, while Jordan Rahn and Zach Carlton added a run. On the RBI front, Carson Kirby and Zach Carlton managed to bring in a run each. Starting pitcher Demoi Hodge faced a formidable Bulldogs lineup. Still, the Barons struggled to contain their offensive power throughout the game. Brewton-Parker will aim to rebound when they travel to Mobile, Ala., to face the University of Mobile in their next game. The team will no doubt be looking for a strong comeback to climb back to a winning record as they continue their season.
