Barons Drop Doubleheader vs Knights on the Road

In a challenging conference doubleheader on April 26, 2025, the Brewton-Parker Barons faced off against Middle Georgia State Knights in Cochran, Ga. Despite a hard-fought effort, the Barons came up short in both games, dropping game one 3-2 and game two 12-7 in favor of the Knights. In game one, Brewton-Parker's players, Jenny Braddy and Lexi Bradshaw, made significant contributions by scoring the runs for their team. Abbey Flowers stood out with a commendable performance, securing three hits and driving in both of Brewton-Parker's runs, bringing her RBI count to 2 for the game. These efforts highlighted the Barons' competitive spirit and skill. Starting pitcher Kaylee Odum delivered a solid outing on the mound, pitching 6.0 innings with five strikeouts and allowing three earned runs. Natalie O'Neal started game two as the pitcher for Brewton-Parker, striving to contain the Knights' offense, but was unable to stop the Knights' prolific offense. The Barons showcased some resilient performances from their players. Tori Wright led the effort, scoring two of the team's seven runs and driving in another. Wright also marked a double and demonstrated her speed with a stolen base. Lexi Bradshaw, Abbey Flowers, Alyssa Usrey, Eboni Medina, and Shelby Aiken contributed to the score with one run. Makayla Croft came into the game in relief, hoping to contain the Knights' lineup, but was unable to stifle the dominant offense of the Knights. As they look forward, the Brewton-Parker women's softball team will next compete in the conference tournament, starting on April 30, 2025, in Decatur, Ala. With their current record at 18-23-1, the Barons are looking to move past the losses and flip the script in the postseason.
