Barons Fall to Crusaders
In a tough conference matchup on November 8, 2025, the Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons hosted William Carey University at Mount Vernon, GA. The Barons could not secure a victory, falling 0-3 to the Crusaders in the final match of the season. The opening set saw the Barons putting up a considerable fight but ultimately fell short, 18-25. Despite strong performances, they struggled to overcome the Crusaders' defense. The second set mirrored the frustrations of the first, with the Barons trailing close behind and ending with a score of 17-25. The final set saw the Barons struggle, scoring only 12 points against the Crusaders, resulting in a 0-3 loss to William Carey University. Highlight performances for the Barons included Adriana De Jesus with eight kills, followed closely by Amme Mobley, who contributed seven kills and led in blocks alongside Raphaela Felisberto with two each. On the defensive side, Claire Slocumb notched the highest digs for the team with six, adding an ace as well. Taylor Lamontagne was a standout, recording five digs, two aces, and leading the team in assists with 16, showcasing her versatility across the court. Additional contributions came from Alana Garcia, also with five digs, and Ryann Prince, who tallied three assists. The Barons' tough season is reflected in their current record of 3- 21, with a conference tally of 0-16. Despite the challenges, they look towards the future, building in the off-season to prepare for the 2026 campaign.
