Barons Fall to Running Eagles
Brewton-Parker Barons fell to the Life Running Eagles with a final score of 85-99 on January 16, 2025, at the Eagles' Nest. Despite a resilient effort, the Barons couldn't bridge the gap after falling behind early in the game. The loss drops the Barons to 2-6 in conference play and fifth in their division. The first half concluded with the Barons trailing by 15 points, setting up a steep hole they had to try and dig themselves out of. The scoreboard read Brewton-Parker 35, Life 50 at halftime, and although the Barons improved their performance in the second half, the early deficit proved too great to overcome. Life ultimately secured the victory with a final score of 99-85, taking advantage of the large lead and great support off the bench. Ferlin Joseph Jr. led the scoring for the Barons with 21 points, followed closely by Tommy J Tisdale III, who not only scored 20 points but also grabbed 12 rebounds. Dre Burroughs also had a notable performance with 19 points and excelled defensively with six rebounds and three steals. The Brewton-Parker Barons are looking ahead to their next game against Dalton State on January 18, 2025, in Dalton, Ga. The team remains determined to turn their season around and gather momentum in the upcoming games. The Barons have ten more chances this season, with four games in Mount Vernon to rally.
