Barons Fall to Stallions in Overtime

In a riveting SSAC conference game held on February 20, 2025, in Tifton, Ga., the Brewton-Parker Barons faced a challenging matchup against the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College Stallions. Despite a valiant effort, the Barons fell short, with a final score of 100-109 in favor of ABAC. Dre Burroughs spearheaded the charge for Brewton-Parker, racking up an impressive 42 points, making him the leading scorer for the Barons. He was well-supported by Tommy J Tisdale III and Zsolt Burrows, who contributed 15 and 14 points, respectively. Burrows also led the team in assists, with a total of five. On the rebounding front, Sam Faraday-Bensley led with 12 rebounds; he also grabbed two steals, tying with Tisdale for the most steals by a Baron during the game. The game commenced with Brewton-Parker clinching the early lead, thanks to quick scores by Burroughs. The team maintained a strong front throughout the first half, ending the half ahead 42-41. The second half was a seesaw battle that eventually stretched into overtime, highlighting both team's sheer determination. Despite a nail-biting finish to the second half, the Barons could not edge out the Stallions in overtime. Brewton-Parker now looks to reset as they gear up to face Middle Georgia in an upcoming game at Mount Vernon on February 22, 2025. With a current season record standing at 7-20, the Barons are looking to end the regular season with a win.
