Barons Soar Over Eagles on the Road
In an impressive baseball display at Waleska, GA, on April 15, the Brewton-Parker Barons soared over the Reinhardt Eagles with a final score of 5-1. The non-conference regular season game saw the Barons enhance their record to 11-27. The standout performers included Kennard Dawson, Carson Kirby, Jeremi Lara, Orlando Perez, and Kendell Wade, each contributing crucial runs. Lara was particularly effective, continuing his streak of multiple hits. The RBIs came from a combined effort by Dawson, Jack Morris, Zack Carlton, and Wade, helping carry the Barons to victory. Chris Herrington took the mound as the starting pitcher, setting a solid foundation for the team's success. The Barons turned to the bullpen to help the team claim victory, sending out six arms to help secure the victory. Grant Cochran came into the game in the third inning, throwing 1.2 innings and securing the win. The Barons took control of the game in the fourth inning, scoring three times and the winning run. Continuing the momentum, Carlton's RBI single in the 6th inning was crucial in helping put the game out of reach. Looking ahead, the Barons will face the University of Tennessee Southern in a doubleheader on April 18 in Mount Vernon, GA. They aim to build on this victory and improve their standing this season.
