Barons Take Down Bruins

In an exhilarating basketball showdown at Gillis Gymnasium on November 11, the Brewton-Parker Christian University Barons clinched a decisive 73-64 non-conference victory against the Carolina University Bruins. This victory further solidifies the Barons' perfect start to the season, pushing their record to an impressive 4-0, and clinched Head Coach Leonard Epps' 100th career win as a coach. The game kicked off with Brewton-Parker gaining an early edge through strategic plays and free throws by Tommy J Tisdale III. Despite a strong three-pointer from Shawn Woodson of Carolina, the Barons quickly regained control, ultimately tying the game at 31-31 by halftime. In the second half, the Barons dominated the court with layups and fast breaks, spearheaded by Gonzalez and supported by key defensive plays from Jayden Hill. The second half saw Brewton-Parker dominate, expanding its lead to 15 points, and by the end of the half, it won 73-64. Key player Jakobe Jones led the team with a notable 21 points, eight steals, and five assists, proving instrumental in both offensive drives and defensive stops in support coming off the bench.
