Brewton-Parker Celebrates Wrestlers' Academic Achievements
In a proud announcement from Brewton-Parker College, six members of the Barons wrestling team have been named to the 2024-25 AAC Men's Wrestling All-Academic Team. Walker Anthony, Gabriel Evans, Robert Keyhea, Tate Morris, Keyshaun Taylor, and Blake Walker have all been recognized for outstanding academic performances. This recognition is awarded to athletes who have demonstrated excellence in their educational pursuits, maintaining superb grades alongside their athletic commitments. The inclusion of these six wrestlers highlights not only their dedication to their sport but also their commitment to excelling in the classroom. To earn this recognition, the student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher and at least be a sophomore. The Barons are also proud to recognize Conner Wright for being named the Barons Champion of Character Winner. The award is given to recognize that individual from each team that highlights and personifies the values of character that all our athletes should strive towards. His coaches chose Conner for his numerous outstanding qualities. Head Coach Tyler Smith shared what Conner means to the team, "Conner is a driven individual who will do anything for anybody. He always listens intently, follows up every conversation with yes sir, and puts his best effort into doing what you ask. His work ethic is hardly ever outmatched on the mat and in the classroom."
