Brown B Powers Past Endicott College 68-17 With 10-Tries Performance

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Brown University’s men’s rugby B side broke the match open with three tries early in the second half, powering to a 68-17 victory over Endicott College on Saturday, Oct. 24, in Providence. Brown finished with 10 tries and nine conversions.
Lutendo Nematswerani supplied the early spark, scoring at 2:30 before adding a kick-and-chase finish at 6:00. Ben Shirley converted both tries for a 14-0 lead. Endicott answered with an unconverted try at 9:15, but Brown quickly found another route through the defense. A strong carry by Long Coll set up Ben Le Roux for a try at 12:00, and Shirley’s conversion pushed the advantage to 21-5.
Bryan Onwuka extended the lead with a powerful carry over the goal line at 26:00. Shirley added the conversion, completing a perfect four-conversion first half. Endicott scored its second unconverted try at 30:00 to make it 28-10 at the break, leaving Brown with an 18-point cushion heading into its most productive attacking stretch.
Reid Spence opened the second-half scoring at 32:00, finishing a set play from a center scrum. Brown then linked a long run by Freddie Bracken-Smith with a deft pass from Iggy de la Fuente to send Malcolm Grant over at 36:30. Ryan Schroeder followed with a long scoring run at 38:45. Shirley converted all three tries as Brown surged ahead 49-10, finishing his perfect kicking contribution with seven conversions from seven attempts for 14 points.
Brown continued to score through both close-range pressure and open-field running. Bracken-Smith picked up from the back of a ruck on the goal line to score at 43:00, with Kristo Klavins converting. Luke Coll battled through multiple defenders for an unconverted try at 51:00. Onwuka then delivered the longest scoring burst of the match at 53:30, fielding a kickoff and covering more than 70 meters, barreling through several defenders for his second try.
Onwuka and Nematswerani each finished with two tries and 10 points. Klavins converted Brown’s final try to make it 68-10, completing a two-conversion, four-point contribution. Brown outscored Endicott 40-7 after halftime, allowing only a converted try at 57:00 that supplied the match’s final points.
