Brown Men's Rugby B's Maintain Unbeaten Record with Commanding Victory Over Fairfield University

In an intensely contested encounter, Brown Men's Rugby secured an emphatic 50-24 victory over Fairfield University at Grauert Field this past Saturday, pushing their season's tally to a perfect 6-0. The match, which started under the warm afternoon sun and progressed into a cooler evening, witnessed Brown completely dominating the first half and leading with a score of 31-3 before conceding some late scores and finishing with a 50-24 victorious result. Throughout the match, the play was marked by notable performances, particularly from Joe Al-Hasso, Joe Ashford, Kenyon Graham (who scored twice), Toby Achleitner, Matthew O'Connor, Mike Lau, and Hugo Mullen, all of whom crossed the try line. Ben Shirley and Joe Ashford additionally contributed with three and two conversions respectively, enhancing the team's lead. Despite the win, player Jack Elliott expressed concerns over the team's defensive efforts, especially towards the end of the match, which he plans to address before their next big clash against Dartmouth. 'We scored a lot of points and it was great to get a win against a quality opponent, but our defence was not up to our standard especially late in the match and so we need to address that going into a big match with our rivals Dartmouth,' said Elliott. Coach Ryan Grant reflected positively on the victory and the team's growth, 'This was a great win and it's awesome to see this group growing as a unit and performing at a higher level each week. This will be an intense next week of training as everyone is anticipating a great match against Dartmouth during our family weekend at home,' stated Grant.
