Cascade Cross Country Schedule Features Estacada Invitational and Postseason Push

Cascade High School’s cross country schedule enters a key stretch with the Estacada Invitational on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at Milo McIver State Park in Estacada. The Cougars are roughly halfway through their 11-week season as October begins. The remaining schedule brings a competitive invitational field and postseason roster decisions into focus for the program’s varsity and junior varsity runners.

Estacada offers a must-watch test against strong 4A competition as Cascade prepares for championship racing. Other teams listed for the invitational include Estacada, Molalla, Riverside, WLWV, Roseburg and The Dalles / Dufur. That field gives the Cougars a chance to measure their progress against runners beyond their own program, with the meet arriving before the OSAA District & League Championships.

Movement between the junior varsity and varsity groups adds another storyline to the second half of the season. Younger runners have chances to earn spots on Cascade’s postseason roster rather than remaining locked into one group. With those places still in play, the upcoming races carry significance both for the team’s preparation and for individuals working toward a varsity role.

The schedule also includes The Happy Hustle on Wednesday, Oct. 21 in Crystal Lake Sports Park, OR. Beyond that October date, the championship stretch follows with district and league competition and the OSAA OnPoint Community Credit Union Cross Country State Championships on Saturday, Nov. 7. Those postseason meets provide the season’s final targets as the Cougars work through the remaining weeks.
