Seaside Cross Country Looks Ahead to Season With Dedication at the Fisherman 5K
At Seaside High School, our co-ed cross country program enters the season with dedication at the center of its identity and winning as the goal. Our calendar includes the Fishermen 5K on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Fort Stevens Historic Area in Hammond, Oregon. That meet provides a scheduled test for the program as our boys and girls prepare for the season ahead. The boys' varsity and junior varsity 5,000-meter races are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Girls varsity and junior varsity races follow at 11 a.m., also covering 5,000 meters.
The schedule puts both varsity and junior varsity competition on the same morning, with the girls’ races beginning 30 minutes after the boys’ start. Families planning to attend can find parking and course maps through the Athletic.net meet page. The listed registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 16, at 2 a.m.
Runners to watch include our senior girls, Grace Walker and Kimberly Martinez-Luna, along with our senior boys, Kaden Bingham, Dexter Jenks, Henry Rollins, Josiah Simonis and Kyle Weichal. Keep an eye on those athletes as Seaside takes on its upcoming competition, with the focus on how the entire program performs.
