Homecoming Week Brings Dogie Spirit to Newcastle High School
It is Homecoming Week at Newcastle High School! NHS Student Council is proud to present HocoFest Homecoming 2026, bringing students, families, staff and fans together for six days of Dogie pride from Monday, Sept. 21, through Saturday, Sept. 26. With dress-up themes, coronation, friendly class competitions, athletics and the Homecoming dance, we are ready to fill the week with black-and-orange spirit.
We kick off Monday with Meme Monday, followed by Homecoming Coronation during E/R time at 1:10 p.m. JV football hosts Hot Springs at 5 p.m., and juniors and seniors take the court for PowderBuff volleyball at 7 p.m. Tuesday’s theme is Dynamic Duos, with PowderPuff junior-senior football set for 7 p.m. Our FFA members also travel to Cheyenne, with the bus departing at 4 p.m.
Wednesday invites students to dress as their favorite music genre while FFA continues its activities in Cheyenne. Seniors will receive graduation information during E/R time in the auditorium. On Thursday, we will celebrate Generations Day: freshmen dress as babies, sophomores as toddlers, juniors as middle-aged adults and seniors as senior citizens. Cross country will compete at Hart Ranch at 1 p.m., with the bus leaving at 6:15 a.m.
Friday is Dogie Day, so wear black and orange and get ready to hear “Rawhide” as the day’s theme song. NHS will follow a modified schedule, beginning with the HocoFest pep rally at 10:30 a.m. Students will be released early at 1:30 p.m., and volleyball hosts Glenrock at 2 p.m. Homecoming royalty will be recognized at 6:45 p.m. before the Dogies host Torrington in football at 7 p.m.
We will close Friday’s festivities with the HocoFest dance from 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. The week’s school activities continue Saturday as volleyball travels to Wheatland for a 1 p.m. match, with the bus departing at 9 a.m. Join us throughout the week, support our students and teams, and help make Homecoming 2026 a memorable celebration for the entire Dogie community!
