Adairsville, Ga. - Reinhardt University’s men’s golf team won the AAC Fall Preview by 21 strokes Tuesday at Barnsley Gardens in Adairsville, Georgia, finishing at 24 over par in its final tournament of the fall season. MJ Hodge and Zane May tied for first individually at 3 over par.

The Eagles topped a field of 13 AAC teams in the Monday-Tuesday tournament, posting team rounds of 4 over, 6 over and 14 over. Pikeville finished second at 45 over, while Truett McConnell and Tennessee Wesleyan tied for third at 62 over. Reinhardt placed four golfers in the top five and all seven of its players in the top 25 of the 82-player field.

Hodge opened with a 2-under-par round, the lowest round recorded by an Eagle during the tournament, before shooting 2 over in the second round. May took a different route to the shared individual title, starting with consecutive even-par rounds. Both players closed with rounds of 3 over to finish one stroke ahead of teammate Alec Strickland.

Strickland recovered from an opening 4-over round with back-to-back even-par rounds to tie for third at 4 over. Pride Dyer completed Reinhardt’s group of top-five finishers, tying for fifth at 7 over. Dyer started at even par, followed with a 3-over second round and closed at 4 over.

Trey Schmidt placed 14th at 13 over, improving from an opening 8-over round to 1 over in the second before finishing with a 4-over round. Tanner Toupls tied for 21st at 16 over after rounds of 3 over, 9 over and 4 over.

Michael King rounded out Reinhardt’s lineup in a tie for 25th at 18 over. King posted rounds of 6 over and 8 over before turning in a tournament-best personal round of 4 over to finish.
