Valley Forge Patriots Lean on Versatility, Leadership in 2025 Baseball Campaign

Chris Medaglia | Valley Forge High School | Mar 26, 2026

Growth, consistency and versatility will define the Valley Forge High School baseball program this spring. The Patriots, fielding a veteran core on the varsity roster, enter the new season with a clear identity centered on steady improvement and team-first play. Coaches say the focus has been on growth and consistency, and this group has embraced that from day one, giving Valley Forge confidence that it can compete each time out in a demanding schedule.

At the center of that identity is senior standout Evan Tappe, who embodies the Patriots’ emphasis on versatility. Tappe is expected to contribute in a variety of roles, including center field, shortstop, catcher and on the mound. His work ethic and ability to impact the game in multiple facets set the tone for the roster. As an everyday presence and vocal leader, Tappe’s adaptability gives Valley Forge flexibility with lineups and in-game adjustments, a critical asset over the course of a long high school season.

Fellow senior Sean Frank provides a similar multi-position anchor, further stabilizing the Patriots’ lineup and defense. Frank can slot in at first base, shortstop, catcher and pitcher, giving the coaching staff another proven option at several key spots. Described as a consistent, tough competitor and role model for the team, Frank’s leadership complements Tappe’s and reinforces the program’s emphasis on accountability. Together, they form a senior core that is expected to guide a mix of returning contributors and emerging underclassmen.

“We’re a young and relatively inexperienced group, but they’ve really bought into the process and the standards of our program.” “There’s a lot of excitement around this team—we’re eager to get on the field, compete, and see it all come together.” “Our focus has been on growth and consistency, and this group has embraced that from day one.”

Behind that senior duo, a group of juniors is poised to take on larger roles and deepen the Patriots’ rotation and lineup. First baseman and pitcher Myles Wisniewski will be a name to watch as a run producer and arm who can help stabilize the staff. At third base and on the mound, Nolan Orlowski adds another two-way option, while outfielder Carlos Santana brings athleticism and range in the outfield. Behind the plate and around the infield, junior Kyle Kalinowski—listed as catcher, pitcher and third baseman—further boosts the program’s depth and reinforces the team’s theme of versatility across the diamond.

The Patriots’ biggest strength entering the season is clearly their senior leadership. With Tappe and Frank at the forefront and a group that has bought into daily improvement, Valley Forge believes it can handle the inevitable ups and downs of a spring schedule. That experience should be especially valuable in tight league games and rivalry matchups, where poise and consistency often decide outcomes. The returning players’ familiarity with varsity competition is expected to help younger contributors adjust more quickly to the speed and demands of the season.

As Valley Forge moves into the heart of its schedule, the Patriots will measure their progress against conference opponents and key nonleague tests that could shape postseason positioning. The program’s outlook hinges on turning its leadership and versatility into sustained execution—throwing strikes, making routine plays and finding timely offense throughout the lineup. If the Patriots continue to embrace their growth-focused identity and lean on their senior core, they project as a dangerous, steadily improving team that opponents will not be eager to see as the season unfolds.
