Royals Face Tough Defeat in SUN Conference Match Against Webber International
In a challenging SUN Conference volleyball faceoff on September 11, 2024, Warner University's Royals faced a tough home defeat at the hands of Webber International (FL) at Babson Park, Fla. The visiting Warriors secured a straight-set victory with set scores of 25-15, 25-23, and 25-20 over the Royals.
Despite the loss, notable performances came from Warner players. Leah Cooley led the team with 4 kills, while Sofia Suarez and Imar Laboy each added 3 kills. On defense, Rylee Waldie stood out with 2 blocks. Thaimarys Alberio-Rosado's defensive efforts were marked by a dig, contributing to the team's resilience against a strong opponent. Offensively, assists came from Evaisabel Davila-Morales who had 3, and Suarez who also contributed 2.
While the defeat was a setback, Warner University’s women’s volleyball team is looking to bounce back in their next game. The Royals will host the St. Thomas Bobcats at Turner Athletic Center in Lake Wales, FL, on September 14, 2024. With a current record of 5-6, and 0-2 in the conference, the Royals aim to leverage their home court advantage to secure a victory and improve their standing in the SUN Conference.
