WARNER SID | Warner University | Apr 1, 2025

In a challenging showdown at Tye Athletic Field on September 21, Warner University's football team faced a rigorous test against the Shorter University Hawks, ultimately enduring a 47-25 defeat. This regular season game marked another tough outing for the Warner Royals, who are searching for their first win of the season.

During the first half, Shorter University quickly took the lead, building a 23-11 advantage by halftime. The Royals faced an uphill battle against a dominant Hawks team that controlled the game from the early minutes. Warner's offensive efforts were spearheaded by Clyde Holland, Omarius Davis, and Zailin Jackson, who each contributed touchdowns. Holland notably added to the team's scoring with a rushing touchdown.

Defensively, Yavari Scott was a standout for Warner, securing 2 sacks that set back Shorter University's offense by a total of 5 yards. However, despite these efforts, the Royals were unable to overcome the early deficit and ultimately fell to an 0-2 record for the season.

Looking ahead, Warner University remains hopeful for their next opportunity to clinch a victory. The next game is set for October 5 at Tye Athletic Field, Lake Wales, FL, where the Royals will take on Florida Memorial in a bid to turn around their season.
