Warner University Royals Face Tough Loss Against Keiser Seahawks in SUN Conference Soccer

WARNER SID | Warner University | Apr 8, 2025

In a challenging SUN Conference soccer match on November 2, 2024, the Warner University women's soccer team faced a tough opponent in the Keiser Seahawks, resulting in a 9-1 loss for the Royals. The match, held in West Palm Beach, Fla, displayed the dominant form of Keiser, who controlled the game from the outset.

The first half concluded with Keiser leading 5-0, thanks to significant contributions from Lauren Riley, who scored a hat-trick in the match. Warner's defense struggled to contain the onslaught, with Keiser's players like Ramona Kannady, Maria Vilhena, and Alicia Rey, among others, all finding the back of the net. Warner’s goalie, Haley Houweling, faced a relentless attack throughout the game.

A hopeful moment for Warner came at 54:39 when Jillian Johnson managed to score, marking the Royals' only goal of the match. This goal stood out as a key moment for Warner, showing resilience despite the scoreboard's pressure. Keiser’s continued pressure, however, culminated in a final score of 9-1.

Warner University will seek to rebound from this defeat in their next game scheduled for November 6, 2024, at the Royals Soccer Field in Lake Wales, FL. The team currently holds a record of 3-11-1 overall and 0-11-0 in the conference, looking forward to improving as the season progresses.
