Warner University Royals Secure a Comeback Victory in Soccer Against Florida Memorial Lions
In an impressive display of resilience and skill, Warner University's soccer team, the Royals, came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over the Florida Memorial Lions in a SUN Conference event held in Warner on October 23, 2024.
Warner University, rallied in the second half with vital goals from Chad McAuliff and Filip Mo, marking their first goals of the season. Filip Mo's crucial strike, which turned out to be the game-winning goal, was assisted by Vlad Andersen. The Royals' goalkeeper, Wesley Lacy, played an instrumental role throughout the event, safeguarding the lead once Warner edged ahead.
This game stands out due to Warner's ability to overturn the score in the second half, demonstrating significant determination and teamwork. "We showed great character to come back and take the win today. Everyone played their part, and I'm particularly proud of Chad and Filip for opening their season's account," noted one of the coaching staff members.
