Warner University Women's Soccer Battles to a Draw with Point
In a compelling display on the soccer field, the Warner University Royals and the Point Skyhawks clashed in a regular season collegiate match, concluding with a 2-2 draw in West Point, Ga., on September 7, 2024.
The tension was palpable from the start as Warner scored the initial goal, an own goal facilitated by Point’s Jillian Johnson. Warner maintained the lead until halftime, sitting comfortably at 1-0. The momentum shifted in the second half when Clarissa Chew bolstered Warner’s position with a vital strike. However, the Point Skyhawks, not to be outdone, responded strongly. Carolina Marin and Brooke Wiseley each found the back of the net, securing a comeback that culminated in a balanced 2-2 final score.
Haley Houweling, the goalkeeper for Warner, showcased commendable skill between the posts throughout the game. Critical plays also came from Jillian Johnson and Cassidy Harrell of Point, both providing essential assists to their team’s efforts.
