Wayne State combined its highest-level offensive production with a stifling defensive result Thursday night, defeating Davenport 88-34 in a GLIAC men’s basketball contest. The Warriors’ 54-point victory was defined by the wide gap on both ends of the floor, as Wayne State approached 90 points while holding Davenport below 40.

The Warriors created separation by consistently adding to their total while limiting Davenport’s opportunities to answer. Wayne State finished with more than twice as many points as the visitors, turning the conference matchup into a decisive home victory. The 88-point output gave the Warriors ample room, but holding Davenport to 34 made the result especially convincing.

Wayne State’s team-wide performance carried the night. With no individual required to define the final result, the Warriors’ collective production delivered an emphatic conference win. Their ability to sustain scoring pressure while keeping Davenport from establishing a comparable rhythm accounted for the substantial final margin.

The result gave Wayne State a strong showing in GLIAC competition and demonstrated the impact of pairing productive offense with a low defensive number. By the final horn, the Warriors had completed an 88-34 victory, securing the outcome with a 54-point advantage.
