DETROIT, Mich. - Wayne State produced a four-goal performance and defeated Ohio State 4-2 on Tuesday, Aug. 18, giving the Warriors a strong result in a six-goal match.
The decisive difference came from Wayne State’s attack. The Warriors scored twice as many goals as Ohio State and built the two-goal margin that separated the teams at the finish. With four goals on the board, Wayne State created enough attacking production to overcome both Ohio State scores.
The Warriors also did enough defensively to preserve the advantage. Ohio State found the net twice, but Wayne State limited the damage and made its own opportunities count at the other end. That balance allowed the Warriors to maintain the upper hand in a match that featured six combined goals.
Wayne State’s scoring output stood as the defining number of the match. The four goals represented a complete team contribution in front of goal, while the defense protected the margin necessary to secure the victory. The final score also gave the Warriors a plus-two goal differential for the afternoon.
The 4-2 finish provided Wayne State with a convincing outcome against Ohio State and highlighted the Warriors’ ability to pair productive attacking play with enough defensive resistance to close out the match. Wayne State left the field with the victory after delivering four goals in Detroit.
