Williamsburg High School Wildcats Secure 2nd Place at Georgetown Invitational
In a commendable showing, the Williamsburg High School Wildcats track and field team clinched the 2nd place finish at the Georgetown "Vern Hawkins" Invitational on April 2, 2025. Competing against a robust lineup of teams including Georgetown, Blanchester, East Clinton, Fayetteville, Felicity, Goshen, MVCA, Manchester, New Richmond, and Eastern Brown, the Wildcats demonstrated both skill and determination. Leading the Wildcats, Troy Harris stole the spotlight by securing a first-place victory in the 100-meter dash, clocking in an impressive time of 11.14 seconds. Trey Holden also topped the charts in the shot put, throwing a remarkable 44.3, earning another first-place finish for the team. The event saw more strong performances with Joey Morris taking second place in the 3200-meter run and Cash Smith finishing second in the 300-meter hurdles. Zander Fishback added to the Wildcats' success by jumping to second place in the high jump at 5'8". The relay teams were not behind; both the 4X100 which consisted of Caleb Harris, DionDre Roland, Cash Smith, and Troy Harris. The 4X400 relay teams finished strong at second place, runners are Alex Boland, Aiden Daniels, DionDre Roland, and Noah Gilbert. Coach Rolph expressed his satisfaction with the team's performance. "I was very pleased with the team's performance in the opening meet," he said, reflecting optimism as the Wildcats prepare for their next event on April 10 at New Richmond High School.
