Williamsburg Wildcats Girls Track Secure First Place at Georgetown Invitational

The Williamsburg High School Wildcats Girls Track and Field team clinched victory at the recent Georgetown "Vern Hawkins" Invitational on April 2, 2025. The girls' team, led by Coach Healey, displayed an outstanding performance, clinching the first-place position amongst a competitive lineup from various schools including Goshen, Manchester, and many more. Multiple members of the Wildcats achieved top honors in both running and field events. Notably, M. Carver dominated the hurdles, securing 1st place in the 100-meter and 2nd place in the 300-meter hurdles. C. Moore also showcased excellent stamina and skill by taking 1st place in the 1600 meter run and participating in the victorious 4X800 meter relay team alongside S. Day, K. Gregory, and S. Wahl. In field events, A. Kellerman and B. Fishback led with impressive performances. Kellerman took home the 1st place in pole vault and also secured 2nd in high jump, while Fishback won 1st in high jump with her personal best at 5'0 highlighting the depth of talent within the team. Coach Healey expressed immense pride in the team's achievement, stating, "Super excited for our first track meet win. All the girls ran really well. We are excited about the season." With such a strong start, the Wildcats are keenly looking forward to their next challenge at New Richmond on April 10, 2025.
