Williamsburg Wildcats Secure Winning Streak with Victory Over Clermont Northeastern Rockets
WILLIAMSBURG, April 11, 2025 — In a showdown that had the varsity girls of Williamsburg High School facing conference rivals the Rockets from Clermont Northeastern, the Wildcats notched another win under their belt, enhancing their perfect season record to 9-0. Despite the chilly and cloudy weather, Williamsburg emerged victorious with a final score of 5-2 at the Rockets' home field.
Lead performances from A. Vearil, who scored two of the five runs, along with key doubles by A. Vearil and K. Anderkin, propelled the team forward in crucial moments. The game has tied at 2 in the top of the 5th inning when the Wildcats demonstrated their prowess with back-to-back doubles from Vearil and Anderkin, followed by a timely single by KK Pollitt and another double by M. Shoemake, vaulting them into the lead. R. Tyminski's standout defensive effort, with two double plays in consecutive innings, further secured the Wildcats' dominant position.
Williamsburg's starting pitcher, A. Vearil, not only contributed significantly to the score but was also a crucial element in the defence strategy. RBIs from K. Anderkin and KK Pollitt, who both pitched in with two each, and M. Shoemake, who added one, rounded out the scoring efforts.
