Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office Brings Community Together Through Unity Seats with Regis Jesuit-Mullen Football Matchup

Dan McGrath | Arapahoe County Sheriff' s Office | Sep 11, 2026

The Regis Jesuit and Mullen Mustangs will kick off at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at Regis Jesuit in Aurora, setting the stage for an evening of Raiders football and community connection. The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office is proud to participate in Unity Seats, an initiative that brings law enforcement and community members together through the shared experience of local athletics.

Sheriff Tyler Brown will join students, families, educators and community members for the matchup. Their time together in the stands will extend beyond cheering for the Raiders and Mustangs. It will offer a welcoming setting where people can meet as neighbors, enjoy the game and build connections outside their usual day-to-day interactions.

Through the US United Unity Seats program, sheriffs or other law enforcement leaders are paired with community members who hold opposing viewpoints. The program purchases tickets and seats participants together, using sports and the shared energy of the crowd as a backdrop for dialogue. Sitting side by side allows participants to listen, learn about one another and discover common ground without approaching the conversation as adversaries.

Sheriff Brown
Some of the best conversations happen when we’re able to come together outside of our traditional roles. High school football is a great example of something that brings people together, and we’re excited to be part of it.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to finding opportunities to connect with residents, support local schools and develop relationships that extend beyond calls for service. For Sheriff Brown, being present at community events is an important part of strengthening trust between law enforcement and the people the office serves.

Friday night’s game provides a chance to step away from daily routines and connect through a familiar community tradition. As the Raiders and Mustangs compete on the field, Unity Seats participants will demonstrate something equally important in the stands: People with different perspectives can share a conversation, celebrate their local schools and take a positive step toward a stronger Arapahoe County.
