Baraboo Boys Claim Home Victory at the Thunderbird Challenge

In an impressive display of athleticism and strategy, the Baraboo Thunderbirds secured a first-place victory at their home meet held at Baraboo High School, WI on September 23, 2025. Competing against strong teams from Sauk Prairie, Poynette, Mauston, and Reedsburg Area, the Thunderbirds' men's team finished with a commendable score of 40. Baraboo's runners showed exceptional performance across the board. Will Boettcher led the team with a remarkable completion time of 17:37.50, earning him 4th place. Oskar LaFave followed closely in 6th place, setting a personal record with a time of 17:59.60. Dylan Davies and Ben Meise also showcased their skills by finishing 8th and 10th with times of 18:22.80 and 18:42.00, respectively. Other notable finishes included Jonatan Martinez in 12th place, Jack Brinker in 13th, and Kilian Duncan in 14th which contributed significantly to the team's overall victory. The meet featured key moments as runners battled for position. Oskar LaFave and Dylan Davies were particularly crucial, managing to outpace rivals and move up the pack effectively, which was vital in securing their high placements. Looking forward, the Baraboo Thunderbirds are set to compete next at the Reedsburg Invitational on September 27, 2025, at the Hartje Center in Reedsburg. The team looks to carry forward their momentum and excel in this upcoming competition.
