Baraboo High School Thunder Thrower Lily Rogers (Soph.) Showcases Stellar Performance at WIAA Sectional Meet

Baraboo High School Thunderbirds’ girls varsity shot putter Lily Rogers made a notable impact at the WIAA Sectional Track & Field Meet held at Verona Area High School, WI, on May 30, 2025. Competing against top Division 1 teams such as Holmen, La Crosse Central, and Middleton, among others, the Thunderbird thrower displayed exceptional skills and sportsmanship under sunny skies with warm conditions. On her very first throw of the meet, Lily set a remarkable benchmark for Baraboo by securing a 3rd place finish in the shot put event. Her throw of 38'4.5" not only exemplified her prowess but also guaranteed her a spot at the State Championship Meet slated for June 6th and 7th at UW-La Crosse. Rogers showcased resilience and determination, bouncing back from various challenges throughout the season, including injuries and competitive pressures. Her performance at Verona follows a series of successful meets, where she accumulated 172.5 team points on the season so far. The Thunderbirds are preparing for their next significant challenge, as Lily Rogers will represent her team in the shot put championship at the Veterans Memorial Stadium. The event promises to gather a large number of spectators supporting this talented athlete in her pursuit to excel among the best in Division 1 girls.
