Baraboo High School Thunderbirds Secure Third Place in Badger Conference Golf Tournament
On May 25 the Baraboo High School Thunderbirds Boys Varsity Golf team showcased impressive golf skills at the Badger Conference Tournament, held at Wild Rock Golf Course in Wisconsin Dells. Competing against formidable schools such as McFarland, Edgewood, Portage, Sauk Prairie, Reedsburg, Mount Horeb, and Stoughton, the Thunderbirds concluded the conference season,, finishing with a strong third place overall standing. The Thunderbirds' performance was bolstered by standout efforts from individual players. Jack Brinker led the team with a remarkable score of 78, tying for fourth place in the tournament and earning a place on the 1st team All Conference. Following closely, Finnley Schindler recorded a personal best of 79, tying for sixth place and securing a spot on the 2nd team All Conference along with teammate Cooper Jauch, who scored an 85. Jon Moon and Will Stelling also contributed significantly with scores of 84 and 88, respectively. Head Coach Landon Brownell expressed great pride in the team's achievement, highlighting their established reputation within the conference. The team's success at the tournament has set high expectations for their upcoming participation in the WIAA Regional Tournament scheduled on May 27, 2025, at Lake Wisconsin Country Club.
