Baraboo High School Thunderbirds Tie for First at Portage

The Baraboo High School Thunderbirds Boys Varsity Golf Team delivered an impressive performance at the Badger Conference Meet #4, tying for first place with Stoughton. The meet was held on May 9, 2025, at the Portage Country Club under sunny skies and ideal playing conditions. The Thunderbirds showcased their skill, with standout rounds from several players. Jack Brinker led the team with a score of 76, tying for third place individually in the tournament. Following closely were Finley Schindler with an 81, Jon Moon with an 82, Cooper Jauch with an 84, and Will Stelling rounding out the team with an 87. This collective effort secured the top spot alongside Stoughton in a tightly contested meet. Coach Landon Brownell praised the team's resilience and positive attitude throughout the event, attributing these qualities as key factors in their successful performance. The Thunderbirds currently hold third place in the Badger Small Conference standings. Looking ahead, Baraboo High School will next compete at the Wisconsin Dells Invite, scheduled for May 12, 2025, at Wild Rock Golf Course. This upcoming event offers another opportunity for the Thunderbirds to demonstrate their capabilities on a larger stage.
