Baraboo JV Girls' Soccer Secures a Convincing Win Over Lake Mills

BARABOO, WI - The Baraboo Thunderbirds JV girls' soccer team celebrated a triumphant victory against the Lake Mills L-Cats with a final score of 3-0 on a chilly and windy Thursday afternoon at Lake Mills. The game, which was part of the regular season lineup for the Thunderbirds, showcased strategic gameplay and a firm defense which kept the score at an immovable zero during the first half. Despite the tough weather conditions, the Thunderbirds emerged more determined after the break. Freshman Reese Manke scored two goals, demonstrating resilience and skill. Aubrie Gamarra-Cook also contributed significantly to the scoreboard with a decisive second goal. Goalkeeper Rachel Wegner played a crucial part as well, safeguarding the Thunderbirds' net throughout the game, ensuring that the L-Cats were unable to score. After the game, Reese Manke shared her thoughts on the robust match, "Although I got my ankle stepped on 6-7 times I persevered my way through it and it was a very physical match for all of the girls but we continued to play strong." Echoing the sentiment of perseverance, Coach Grace Schell emphasized the importance of communication, stating, "Effective teamwork begins and ends with communication." Looking ahead, the Thunderbirds are set to face Reedsburg at home on April 22. The team hopes to maintain their winning streak with the continued support of their fans and effective team cohesion.
