Baraboo JV Volleyball Thunderbirds Triumph at Home Tournament
The Baraboo JV Volleyball Thunderbirds delivered an impressive performance at a local tournament held in Baraboo on September 27, 2025, securing a first-place victory. The team showcased a strong showing across six sets, achieving wins against Colby, Lancaster, and Mauston, although they encountered a setback losing to Pardeeville in three sets. Overall, their efforts culminated in a commendable 3-1 record for the tournament, leading to their top finish. Top players Arihanna Puzek and Olivia Webster led the charge with significant contributions. Puzek was outstanding, not only leading kills with 19 but also securing the highest number of blocks and aces for her team. Her all-around performance was central to the team's success. Webster followed closely with 17 kills. Other notable contributors were Emma Herritz and Annie Carroll, each adding 10 kills, with Carroll also contributing crucial blocks. The defensive efforts were bolstered by Mya Cowling and Gabby Logan, who were active in digs, making key saves throughout the tournament. On the serving side, McKenna Mattice tied with Puzek for the most aces, each delivering 8 crucial serves, supported by Honore Bavlnka's 5 aces. Bavlnka also shined in assists, leading with 27, followed by Izzy Rockweiler with 19.
