Baraboo Thunderbirds Compete in the Nightfall Classic 608 at Tuscumbia Golf Course

The Baraboo Thunderbirds showed strong performances in the recent Nightfall Classic 608 Cross Country event held on October 3, 2025, at Tuscumbia Golf Course, Wisconsin. Participating against a competitive field that comprised noteworthy schools including DeForest, Oak Creek, and Madison Memorial among others, the Thunderbirds faced intense competition in both Men's and Women's events. In a substantial gathering of over 50 teams and 1600 runners, the Thunderbirds men's team finished 5th with a score of 167, while the women's team secured the 9th place with a score of 253. Individual athletes Will Boettcher and Madilyn (Madi) Gilbert stood out with their remarkable timings; Boettcher finished 11th in the Men's Varsity Division 1 with a time of 16:44.2, and Gilbert secured a 6th place in the Women's Varsity Division 1 with a time of 20:14.7. The event, characterized by its Homecoming Friday atmosphere, was not only a competition but also an enjoyable experience for the participants, as echoed by many athletes who regarded it as the most fun meet they have competed in yet. As the Thunderbirds look forward to their next challenge, they will be racing in the Wisconsin Dells Invite on October 11, 2025, at Wisconsin Dells High School.
