Baraboo Thunderbirds Dominate at Dells Invitational Cross Country Event
In an impressive display of stamina and strategy, the Baraboo Thunderbirds swept the Dells Invitational Cross Country event on October 11, 2025, held in Wisconsin Dells. This notable event saw the boys' teams performing exceptionally well in the challenging 5000 Meter Run. The day was marked by significant achievements from young athletes. Oskar LaFave, a 9th grader from Baraboo, secured the 4th place with an impressive time of 17:38.2. Not far behind him, Dylan Davies, an 11th grader, finished 5th, clocking in at 17:51.0. The highlight of the event was Will Boettcher's victorious run, finishing first with a leading time of 16:45. Baraboo's coach expressed immense pride in the team's performance, noting, 'We had 11 guys finish in under 19 minutes today which I believe is the most of any team that I've coached.' This achievement underscores the depth and capability of the Baraboo Thunderbirds in cross country running. Looking ahead, the Thunderbirds are set to compete in the Badger Large Conference Meet, to be held on October 18, 2025, at the Baraboo High School. The team hopes to carry forward their winning momentum into this upcoming challenge.
