Baraboo Thunderbirds Face Tough Challenge Against Edgewood Crusaders in Soccer
In a regular conference match held on May 20, 2025, the Baraboo High School Thunderbirds varsity girls' soccer team encountered a robust Edgewood Crusaders squad at Edgewood High School. Though the Thunderbirds, led by goalie Leah Hess, fought diligently throughout the competition, they fell to the Crusaders with a final score of 0-7. The first half proved challenging for the Thunderbirds, with the Edgewood team utilizing their formidable attacking lineup to secure a significant 6-0 lead by halftime. Coach Lang expressed that 'Edgewood came out strong in the first half with their potent attackers, but we made great adjustments in the second half and only allowed one goal early on. The girls fought hard throughout the match and didn't back away from the challenge.' Despite the tactical adjustments in the second half, the Thunderbirds could not overcome the early disadvantage, concluding the match without scoring. Looking forward, the Baraboo High School Thunderbirds, currently holding a 13-4 season record, are set to face Lodi on May 27, 2025, at Flambeau Field at Beryl Newman Stadium. This upcoming game presents another opportunity for the team to demonstrate their resilience and skills on the field.
