Baraboo Thunderbirds Faculty Engage in Professional Development at BIOS Symposium for Coaches
On a bright and sunny day at Camp Randall Stadium, on the grounds of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Baraboo School District athletics and administrative staff participated in an enriching Activities Coaching Professional Development event. The clinic occurred on June 17, 2025, offering a platform for educational growth in sports coaching. Among the attendees were the Baraboo School District's athletic director Jim Langkamp and the newly appointed Superintendent Steve Considine, both of whom helped facilitated the organization of offering the opportunity to participate to our coaches. The coaches involved represented both boys and girls sports including football, baseball, soccer, hockey, volleyball, softball, track and field and golf. The BIOS Symposium, themed 'Running a Championship System,' aimed at fostering excellence in sports coaching was a key focus of the day. Highlighting the event were insightful presentations from Superintendent Steve Considine, who emphasized the importance of leadership in coaching development, and Baraboo alum Josie Schaefer, who shared her experiences as a Badgers' shot put and discus track and field star. This event not only provided a learning experience but also showcased the close-knit athletics coaching community within the Baraboo School District.
