Baraboo Thunderbirds Secure Dominant Victory Over Portage Warriors
In a commanding display of skill and teamwork, the Baraboo High School varsity boys basketball team clinched a significant win against the Portage Warriors with a final score of 82-49 on January 31, 2025, at Baraboo High School. The Thunderbirds' triumph bolsters their season record to 11-6, with a strong showing in conference play at 6-2. The game started off competitive, but the Thunderbirds took control by halftime, leading the Warriors 41-22. A pivotal moment came right after the break, as Baraboo opened the second half with a decisive 13-2 run, effectively sealing the game early with their dynamic offense and tight defense. This surge exemplified the Thunderbirds' ability to capitalize on their momentum and demoralize their opponents. Carter Rivas led the scoring for Baraboo with an impressive 28 points, demonstrating his pivotal role in the team's offense. Supporting him, Dan Olson and Brady Bauer each contributed 12 points, helping to secure the wide margin of victory. Additional valuable plays came from Behr LeFevre and Alex Hannagan, who added 8 and 6 points respectively. Looking forward, the Thunderbirds are set to face Mount Horeb High School on February 4, 2025.
