Baraboo Thunderbirds Triumph with 8-0 Soccer Victory Over Portage Warriors
On September 18, 2025, the Baraboo Boys Varsity Soccer Thunderbirds dominated the field against the Portage High School Warriors at Baraboo High School. The match, a non-conference face-off, saw the Thunderbirds securing a resounding 8-0 victory under sunny weather conditions.
Baraboo Thunderbirds had an impressive performance leading to a strong 5-0 lead by halftime. Among the highlights, Justin-Lee Penn and Calen Ruff each netted two goals, while Colton Klongland, Isaiah Romano-Thompson, William Stelling, and Milo Scanlan contributed by scoring one goal each. Providing further strength to the team, assists were made by Isaiah Romano-Thompson, Evan Eilertson, and Noah Hess.
Goalkeeping was confidently handled by Rexton Borota, who kept a clean sheet throughout the game, effectively shutting out any scoring attempts from the Warriors. The final score reinforced Baraboo's strong offensive and defensive tactics on the field.
Moving forward, the Thunderbirds will next compete in a tournament on September 20, 2025, at Lake Mills High School. Currently, the team holds a balanced season record of 4-4 Overall and 1-2 in Conference matches.
