BHS Boys Swim Team Sending 7 To The WIAA State Championships
Baraboo High School's Swim team enjoyed a successful day in the Sauk Prairie High School pool last Saturday in the WIAA Sectional Meet. Seven swimmers qualified to advance to the 2025 WIAA State Swimming & Diving Championships. The meet will be held at Waukesha South High School on Friday. Under the guidance of coaches Tim Capps and Travis Baughman, the Thunderbirds are well prepared to make the familiar trip to Waukesha to close the season. The 200-Yard Medley Relay team composed of Silas Morehouse, Sergey Kandrykinski, Logan Bradley, and Will Olson set the tone for a successful day at Sectionals, finishing 5th. Two other relay teams qualified for the State Meet. The 200-Yard Freestyle Relay, comprised of Logan Bradley, Vadzim Kandrykinski, Jacob Balfanz, Sergey Kandrykinski also finished fifth. In the final event of the day, the 400-Yard Freestyle Relay team of Logan Bradley, Simon Stucynski, Sergey Kandrykinski, and Will Olson took third, securing the final berth for the Thunderbirds. Baraboo will also be well represented in individual events, including the 200-Yard Individual Medley by Simon Stuczynski, the 100-Yard Butterfly by Logan Bradley, and the 50-Yard and 100-Yard Freestyle races by Will Olson. Coach Tim Capps expressed optimism about the team's preparations, "Our athletes have been training hard, and we are looking forward to putting that training to the test against the best in the state."
