Girls Golf Competes Well in Tomah Tune-Up
The Baraboo Thunderbirds participated in the Tomah Tune-Up golf tournament on August 18, 2025, hosted at the scenic Hiawatha Golf Club in Tomah, WI. This golf event saw the Baraboo Thunderbirds girls varsity team face a vast array of opponents, including teams like Tomah Timberwolves, River Falls Wildcats, and several others across the region. Competing in a stroke play format, the Thunderbirds finished 10th among 20 teams, recording a team score of 415 strokes. Top performances came from Kyran Merrell, who impressively tied for 10th place with an individual score of 89. Taylynn Bell also had a notable round, carding a 100. In pivotal moments of the match, Merrell showcased resilience, especially on the 1st, 4th, and 14th holes, where she made par, and finishing strong by shooting +2 in her final seven holes. The Baraboo Thunderbirds will look next to their upcoming event on Thursday in Milton, as they continue their season and aim to build on their experiences and performances from the Tomah Tune-Up.
