In a thrilling contest at Pierce Park, the Baraboo Thunderbirds secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory in double overtime over the South Central Navigators on February 1. The win was crucial for the Thunderbirds, as they faced off in an evenly-matched Badger Conference tilt. Scoring opened with the Navigators taking a first-period lead on a power play goal by Teddy Loeffelholz. However, the Thunderbirds displayed remarkable resilience, overturning the deficit in the second period thanks to two rapid-fire goals from senior Jordi Beale, who emerged as a key player for Baraboo. Assisted by Nathan Gneiser, Wyatt Arnold, and Wade Zemanovic, Beale's swift scoring spree shifted the momentum in favor of the Thunderbirds. Despite Logan Alton of South Central tying the game with a crucial goal late in the third period, it was senior Nathan Gneiser, who became the hero for Baraboo, scoring the decisive goal in the second overtime, with an assist from Bobby Meeker.
