Thunderbirds Triumph in Portage Tennis Quad

On September 6, 2025, the Baraboo Tennis Thunderbirds achieved a clean sweep at the tennis quad held at Portage High School, decisively defeating Viroqua, Columbus, and Portage. Baraboo Thunderbirds opened their day with a resounding 5-0 victory against Viroqua in doubles. They continued their strong performance by beating Columbus 6-1. The day concluded with a perfect 7-0 win over host team Portage. Players Leah Kierzek, Gigi Heiner, Grace Atwater, and Michelle Barahona were standout performers, winning both of their singles and doubles matches across the day. The doubles teams were equally impressive, with Willa Scanlan, Mallory Olson, Lauren Jauch, and Layla Puttkamer winning all their matches in straight sets. Notably, Mallory Olson achieved her 30th career varsity win. Freshman Maddison Litscher, along with Juniors Jaiden Ballweg and Jasmine Szweda, competed in their first varsity matches, with Jasmine and Jaiden securing a win against Portage in the #3 doubles spot. Baraboo Tennis Thunderbirds now prepare to face Watertown at Watertown High School on September 9, 2025, with a strong season record of 8-2.
