Thunderbirds Varsity Boys Basketball Falls Short At Mount Horeb
In a nail-biting regular season conference game on February 4, 2025, the Baraboo High School Thunderbirds Varsity Boys Basketball team faced a tough setback against the Mount Horeb Vikings, falling 78-67 at Mount Horeb High School. Despite trailing at halftime with a score of 39-33, the Thunderbirds made a strong comeback early in the second half. Baraboo surged forward on a 9-2 run, highlighted by Behr LeFevre's trio of consecutive 3-pointers, to snatch a fleeting lead at 42-41. The game remained intensely close, staying within one or two possessions until the final minutes. Unfortunately, the Thunderbirds couldn't maintain their momentum, running out of steam towards the end. Top scorers for the Thunderbirds were Carter Rivas with an impressive 24 points, followed by Behr LeFevre with 19 points, and Alex Hannagan contributing 12 points along with 7 assists. Dan Olson also stood out with a strong defensive performance, grabbing 11 rebounds and adding 6 points. Looking ahead, the Thunderbirds have a chance to bounce back in their next game against the McFarland Spartans on Friday at Baraboo High School.
