Varsity Baseball Narrowly Defeated in Badger Conference Matchup Against McFarland
In a closely contested Badger Conference baseball game, the Baraboo High School Thunderbirds were edged out by the McFarland Spartans with a final score of 6-4. Despite the loss, the Thunderbirds showcased notable performances, especially from Peyton Poker who reached base three times, including two hits and a walk. Jackson Puttkamer, Nathan Gneiser, Brady Bauer, and Adam Schlender each contributed by scoring runs for Baraboo. RBI's were recorded by Peyton Poker and Karsen Fitzpatrick, adding to the team's competitive performance during the game. Cyrus Mahoney took the mound as the starting pitcher for Baraboo, battling through a tough lineup. While the Thunderbirds fell just short, their resilience and fight were on full display. The team is now looking forward to a quick turnaround, as they face McFarland again tomorrow at Mary Rountree Evans Field.
