Berea-Midpark’s girls varsity golf team placed three seniors among its leading scorers Tuesday, Aug. 18, earning a 187-193 victory over Midview at 12411 Grafton Rd, Grafton, OH 44044. The six-stroke win improved the Titans to 3-1.
Avery James led Berea-Midpark with a 42, the lowest reported round of the match. Isabella Santori followed with a 44, finishing two strokes behind James and giving the Titans two scores in the mid-40s at the top of their lineup.
Senior Miya Walker added a 48 to complete the Titans’ trio of leading performances. Together, James, Santori and Miya Walker combined for 134 strokes, putting Berea-Midpark in position to secure the team result. The Titans’ remaining counting score was 53, completing their 187 total.
The margin left little room between the teams, but Berea-Midpark’s balance proved decisive. Each of the Titans’ three identified seniors broke 50, and their steady scoring helped Berea-Midpark finish six shots clear of Midview. In golf’s team format, where the lower total wins, that consistency across the counting cards made the difference.
The victory continued a strong opening stretch for the Titans, who have won three of their first four matches. With James setting the pace and Santori and Miya Walker close behind, Berea-Midpark’s senior group delivered the scores needed to close out the road result.
