Gianna Colonna and Lilly Jones Lead Titans at Lakewood Doubles Tennis Tournament
The Berea-Midpark varsity girls tennis team celebrated a strong day of doubles competition Thursday, Aug. 13, at the Lakewood Doubles Tournament. The all-day event began at 8:30 a.m. at Lakewood High School, and gave the Titans opportunities to compete against several area programs.
Gianna Colonna and Lilly Jones led the Titans with a 2-1 record across three matches. The pairing earned victories against Cleveland Heights and Fairview, putting together two strong performances during a demanding tournament schedule.
The winning record reflected the pair’s ability to sustain its play throughout the day. With multiple matches packed into one tournament, Colonna and Jones continued competing effectively and finished with two wins in three appearances.
Ella Weth and Brynn Siedlecki added another highlight for Berea-Midpark by defeating conference rival Elyria. That victory gave the Titans another reason to celebrate and added a conference win to the team’s successful tournament experience.
Beyond the results, the Titans enjoyed spending the full day together on the courts. Every player had a great time at the tournament, combining spirited competition with valuable doubles experience. With three highlighted victories, Berea-Midpark left the event with positive results and a memorable day as a team.
