Record Rounds Carry Titans Past Midview 149-158
The Berea-Midpark boys golf team set two school records Tuesday, defeating Midview 149-158 in a Southwestern Conference match at Brentwood Golf Course. The nine-stroke victory moved the Titans to 2-0 in conference play.
Oliver Marcelo led the record-setting performance with a 34, establishing a New School mark. The low round provided the foundation for Berea-Midpark’s team score of 149, which also set a school record.
The Titans received steady scoring throughout their lineup. Harrington carded a 36, Wagner finished with a 39 and Mason added a 40. Those four rounds combined for the record team total, while Higgins completed the lineup with a 44.
Berea-Midpark’s top finishers were listed as Oliver Marcelo with the record 34, Thomas Harrington with a 36 and Gavin Wagner with a 39. With three rounds below 40 and another at 40, the Titans built enough separation to finish nine shots ahead of Midview. The match was played in clear conditions with the temperature around 64 degrees at the start.
The result continued a strong opening to the Titans’ SWC schedule. Beyond remaining unbeaten in conference competition, Berea-Midpark left Brentwood with new individual and team standards after a balanced performance in which every counted score was 40 or better.
The Titans will return to the course Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, when they travel to face Avon at 11:30 a.m. EDT at Bob O Links Golf Course.
