Berea-Midpark placed three golfers at 41 or better Tuesday, but Avon’s lower team total secured a 153-163 victory over the Titans at Bob O Links Golf Course. The 10-stroke loss came despite a consistent showing from the top of the Titans’ lineup in the Aug. 18 road match.
Ryley Mason led Berea-Midpark with a 39, finishing as the Titans’ only golfer below 40. The team-low round gave Berea-Midpark its strongest individual score of the match and was two strokes better than each of the Titans’ next two finishers.
Gavin Wagner and Bob O Links Golf followed with matching rounds of 41. Their scores kept Berea-Midpark’s leading trio within two strokes of one another, giving the Titans three steady counting performances. Together, Ryley Mason, Gavin Wagner and Bob O Links Golf accounted for 121 strokes of the team’s 163 total.
The balance of Berea-Midpark’s team score was 42, leaving only three strokes between all four counting rounds. That consistency gave the Titans a competitive total, but Avon’s 153 proved decisive. The hosts averaged 2.5 fewer strokes across the four counting scores to create the final 10-stroke margin.
Berea-Midpark will return to the road for its next match against Normandy at Ridgewood GC on Monday, Aug. 24, 2026, at 3 a.m. EDT. The Titans will look to build on the tight scoring range established by their leading finishers against Avon.
