Titans Place Fourth at Amherst Invitational Behind Pair of 80s

The Berea-Midpark boys golf team posted a 330 to finish fourth among 18 teams Monday at the Amherst Invitational at Oberlin Country Club. Strong scoring at the top of the lineup helped the Titans secure their top-four finish on a day featuring favorable weather and course conditions.
Avon won the tournament with a 309, while Olmsted Falls placed second at 324 and Padua finished third at 327. Berea-Midpark ended three strokes behind Padua, six behind Olmsted Falls and 21 behind tournament champion Avon.
Veterans Thomas Harrington and Oliver Marcelo led the Titans by carding matching rounds of 80. Oliver Marcelo joined Harrington among the event's top finishers, giving Berea-Midpark a strong performance at the front of its lineup.
Luke Higgins followed with a solid 83, and Gavin Wagner completed the Titans' four counting scores with an 87. Those rounds combined for the team total of 330 and provided enough consistency for Berea-Midpark to finish ahead of 14 teams in the field.
Ryley Mason and Jack Roda also competed for the Titans in their varsity tournament debuts. Mason finished with a 99, while Roda recorded a 101. Their first varsity tournament rounds added experience and depth to a lineup that received four counting scores of 87 or better.
The Titans' next scheduled competition is an away match against Avon at 11:30 a.m. EDT Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2026, at Bob O Links Golf Course.
