Titans Post 2-1 Record at Westlake Quad Behind Strong Finish

Maggie Nedoma | Berea-Midpark High School | Sep 12, 2026

Berea-Midpark turned a determined, full-team effort into two victories Saturday, finishing 2-1 in a quad match at Westlake. The Titans opened with a 25-22, 25-23 sweep of Austintown Fitch, fell 23-25, 21-25 to Medina and then rallied past Westlake 18-25, 25-12, 25-9.

The Titans set a positive tone by battling through two competitive sets against Austintown Fitch. Berea-Midpark created separation with aggressive service runs while leaning on its defense to sustain rallies. The Titans stayed composed as both sets tightened late, earning the final points needed to complete the straight-set victory and begin the day 1-0.

Medina presented another demanding test in the second match. Berea-Midpark pushed the strong Medina program to the closing stages of the opening set before coming up two points short, 25-23. The Titans continued to compete in the second set, but Medina secured a 25-21 win to complete the sweep. Despite the result, Berea-Midpark’s defensive work and collective effort kept the match competitive.

The response against Westlake became the defining stretch of the quad. After a slow start resulted in a 25-18 first-set loss, the Titans quickly reset and took charge. Aggressive serving disrupted Westlake’s offense, while determined defense helped Berea-Midpark extend rallies and create attacking opportunities. The Titans rolled through the second set 25-12 to force a decisive third.

Berea-Midpark carried that momentum into the finale and delivered its most decisive set of the day. The Titans won 25-9, closing the match on a commanding two-set surge in which they outscored Westlake 50-21. Every player made an impact as the team combined its service pressure, defensive energy and attacking work to finish the quad with another victory and improve its record.

The 2-1 day reflected the Titans’ ability to compete through tight sets, regroup after adversity and finish with purpose. Berea-Midpark will return to the court to face Elyria Tuesday, September 15th on the road.
